Perspectives again…

I was scooting around crunchyroll.com one day, when out of curiousity, I decided to search for ‘maplestory’.  And guess what I found…

crunchyroll

I was quite shocked to find out that Nexon has branched out into the anime scene.  And so, I watched the 1st episode of this relatively new anime.(currently 3 episodes only.)  Here’s the synopsis… (taken from crunchyroll.com too)

TTen years ago, the World Tree that protected peace and order of the world was being targeted by an evil organization called the Zakun (in Mandarin pinyin, it is za1 kun1 tuan2). The Human race led four other races in a fight against the Zakuns. In the end, the World Tree activated self-destruction to protect itself. However, the other races thought it was the Human race that destroyed the World Tree. Since then, a never-ending war between the different races began.
Ten years later, the main protagonist, Al, determines to revive the World Tree. Al and his companions begin their journey to seek the seed of the World Tree. At the same time, the Zakuns

This anime has quite an interesting storyline.  However, from the quality, I can tell that Nexon did not put much effort into the production and only wanted to use this anime to attract more people to the actual game.  In fact, you can say that this anime is just simply blending all the monsters, maps and places into one and conjuring up a storyline to go with it.  Don’t waste your time on this anime; there are much better ones for you to watch.

Talking about crunchyroll, some people call it the Asian youtube’ but it is actually an upsize version of youtube, with better organization and other stuff like groups.  Oh yes,  if you are a member of crunchyroll too(like me!), get someone to invite you to the maplestory group!

With the release of the new patch, the gms have given us their Christmas present!  For with this new patch comes a slew of never before-seen updates, especially the 4th job!

For the 4th job,  I can’t really believe that we are ahead of some servers.  This is just too kewl~! =)   All the best to everyone(including me) and I hope we will all achieve 4th job one day! X)

In regards to the alphabet quest (talk to maple admin and she tells you to collect letters from certain monsters, so that you form the words “maplestory”, “asiasoft” and “nexon”), for those froggies in the well, the alphabets are selling like hotcakes in the free market, from 200k-500k!  However, I advise you not to buy them; firstly, it spoils the fun and secondly, 200k-500k is quite a hefty price to pay for an alphabet!  After the patch, I remember that I was one of the first to log in, but already there were some enterprising people selling the alphabets in the free market.  After 1 whole day of hunting at the forest of dead trees, I only received a pathetic 2 As and 1 E.  ARGH!!!!

Also, with this new patch, a new boss monster has been unleased…

Maple0011

I was like ‘WOW!!’ when I first saw the picture.  After some research(aka checking out the MSEA website)  I realised that this was none other than the Horned Tail boss monster, probably hidden in a remote corner of Leafre?  I have heard some rumors that you will take an INFINITY to kill the tail, so please beware.  And all the best to the extremely brave and (stupid?) who wish to take on the Tail.

WE INTERUPT THIS WEBLOG POST FOR THIS NOT SO IMPORTANT VIDEO…(n-joy!)

Along with this patch also comes the monster riding system, which is currently used only by a privileged few…

Maple0127

I’m that guy with the flame golden circut to the left.  This monster riding is really cool; I wonder how those pros get it? o.0

SO, overall this is one of the most useful patch ever! x)

Maple Story PianusClick here to play this gameI found this interesting and entertaining flash game on y8.com.  You, a blind character who looks pretty stupid, must kill the gigantic pianus, with the help of some skills…

 Defualt skill buttons

A – Hyper Body.
S – Meso.
D – Shadow Partner.
F – Claw Booster.
F – Haste.
Z – Throw Star.
X – Heal.
C – Meso Explosion.
G – Summon Ifrit.
Insert / Delete Key – Potions.
Spacebar – Jump.

PS this game might take a while to load; its size is 4.25MB.  Oh yes, the Pianus in this game ain’t no pushover…

Tip:Use hyper body before doing anything else, or you are in danger of being ‘1 hit KOed’

…and some other Singapore related stuffs.

I ended my previous post with a cry for help, screaming,”HOW TO GET SINGAPORE FLAG!?”  But fortunately, I have found the way to do so…

untitled

The quest for the flag starts from talking to the maple admin in the towns.  After that, you will have to find Mr. Gwin and give him some medicine.  Gwin can be found in the ‘blue parts’ of the dungeon, after tunnel of light 2( I tink!)

Anyway, my research of the Singapore town has just ended, in which I was chased by dozens of bloodthirsty ghosts, had several near-death experiences and gawked at the dozens of merlion statues in the towns, among other experiences.  Therefore, I present to you…. THE SINGAPORE TOWN REVIEW!!!

REVIEW

Stuff you must know:  The SG map is made out of 2 towns, CBD(Central Business District) and  Boat Quay Town. The former is more ‘Singapore-like’ with stop sign and speed limit monsters.  However, the latter is more for the higher levled mapler, with GHOSTS in many maps.

Get to Singapore by going to Kerning City, and talking to the gal at the extreme left (Irene).  After buying the 20 000 mesos ticket, you will be in the Kerning Airport ,aka the waiting room…

Maple0001 Maple0002

After a pretty long wait, you will be transported to the airplane.  This is the same as the rides to Ludibrum and Ossyria, just that this is MUCH faster and if you drop something, it will be stuck to the roof of the airplane, never to be seen again…

Maple0004

After the ride, you will arrive at CHANGI AIRPORT(sounds familiar?) and after leaving the airport and stepping into CBD, your adventure in Singapore BEGINS…

Maple0005 Maple0038

Visual and Music:5/5. The statue of Sir Stanford Raffles(In CBD; Raffles is the founder of modern Singapore) is hilarious!  Also, you can find the ‘durians’ the Esplanade(theatre) in the CBD too.  Also, have a look at the merlion in Boat Quay Town…

Maple0007 Maple0012(Esplanade in background)

Maple0023

Monsters: 4/5.  I have something against the GODLY spawn rate in boat Quay town.  in CBD this is still ok, as the monsters are generally low-levled.  However, when it comes to probably level 50+ ghosts and monsters beyond Boat Quay Town, I’m not so keen…

Maple0027

There is also a ghost ship if you manage to reach Mysterious Path 3(It seems like everyone has died at least once in their exploration!)

Maple0032 Maple0033

PS I heard from a *ahem* trustworthy*ahem* source that there is a level 100 boos monster deep in the ship, called captain ________.

OTHER RANDOM PICTURES OF THE SG MONSTERS

Maple0028 Maple0030 Maple0029 Maple0025

Quests: 3/5.  Quests are pretty simple, no chain quests or boss monster quest, excluding the maple flag quest(Its a maple event quest to commemorate the National Days of Singapore and Malaysia, so I’m not including it).Quests include: Technical Assignment, Clear The Rubbish, Wedding Photos 1 etc.

And so, I end my review of SG.  In my opinion, SG is worth visiting (although a little ex!) It will certainly put a smile on your face as you admire the common stuff in this little red dot!

KFS is one of the newest towns in maplesea.  Here’s a review about it…

How to go there:  There are two methods.  Number 1, go to aqua road, the sharp unknown, then press up on the giant noticable book.  After that, you will be in a well.  Climb up the rope and you are there.  Number 2, go to the new Helios tower, take the lift down to the 2nd floor.  After that, go to the first floor.(Library.) Then go to he bottom of the map and press up on the huge giant noticable book there…

maple1538.jpg<–In the helios tower library.

Monsters:Quite high levled.  Do be careful, and bring some spare pots in case.  Hojo, the FAT tiger who wears  tight fitting underwear and acts so macho, can do a curse called stun.  In other words, you cannot move until the the curse is lifted.

Graphics, sound:Excellent as usual

Quests: Very interesting, as they are based on old korean folk tales(otherwsie the town won’t be called KFS righ!?)  The quests give rather good exp too.

Overall, its a nice place, so I’ll give it a 4/5(Thumbs up!)

Here’s a vid I saw on youtube: (Please do not SMASH! your computer while waitng for snail-paced youtube to finish buffering it)
