Some pretty useless guides…

With the release of the new patch, the gms have given us their Christmas present!  For with this new patch comes a slew of never before-seen updates, especially the 4th job!

For the 4th job,  I can’t really believe that we are ahead of some servers.  This is just too kewl~! =)   All the best to everyone(including me) and I hope we will all achieve 4th job one day! X)

In regards to the alphabet quest (talk to maple admin and she tells you to collect letters from certain monsters, so that you form the words “maplestory”, “asiasoft” and “nexon”), for those froggies in the well, the alphabets are selling like hotcakes in the free market, from 200k-500k!  However, I advise you not to buy them; firstly, it spoils the fun and secondly, 200k-500k is quite a hefty price to pay for an alphabet!  After the patch, I remember that I was one of the first to log in, but already there were some enterprising people selling the alphabets in the free market.  After 1 whole day of hunting at the forest of dead trees, I only received a pathetic 2 As and 1 E.  ARGH!!!!

Also, with this new patch, a new boss monster has been unleased…

Maple0011

I was like ‘WOW!!’ when I first saw the picture.  After some research(aka checking out the MSEA website)  I realised that this was none other than the Horned Tail boss monster, probably hidden in a remote corner of Leafre?  I have heard some rumors that you will take an INFINITY to kill the tail, so please beware.  And all the best to the extremely brave and (stupid?) who wish to take on the Tail.

WE INTERUPT THIS WEBLOG POST FOR THIS NOT SO IMPORTANT VIDEO…(n-joy!)

Along with this patch also comes the monster riding system, which is currently used only by a privileged few…

Maple0127

I’m that guy with the flame golden circut to the left.  This monster riding is really cool; I wonder how those pros get it? o.0

SO, overall this is one of the most useful patch ever! x)

Just want to talk a bit about Leafre town and the Leafre-Grendel Quest…

Requirements:NIL

So, just head over to Ellinia, and find grendel the veri OLD, who is still floating around in his magic library.  The old man will tell you that he wants you to deliver a pure water of protection to Leafre, because he’s too lazy to do it

purewaterofprotection.jpg

He’ll also give you a FREE  ticket to ossyria and leafre(I didn’t know that mr.old was so kind!) and an instruction book on how to get to Leafre…

howtogettoleafre1.jpg

howtogettoleafre1.jpg

So, go on!  After you have taken the ship to Orbis(hope the rog won’t get you!) take ANOTHER ship to Leafre.  Here’s how the ship looks like…

maple0009.jpgmaple0010.jpgmaple0019.jpg

Cute,right?

Anyway, after arriving at the CUTE town of Leafre, find Chief Tamano at the western side of it and talk to him…

maple0013.jpg

After that, you are finished!(and stuck in Orbis) your reward:a pathetic 1000 exp and 2 magic seeds for you to teleport between Ellinia and Leafre.(I reccomend that you don’t do this as there dosen’t seem to be a way to telport back…)

A word of warning though:Don’t fool around with the monsters!  On the first map, one of the monsters hit me, a lvl 51 cleric, 600+ with its magic attack!  So be careful, and don’t fool around with the monsters unless you know what you are doing!

RANDOM PICTURES OF LEAFRE AND OTHER RELATED STUFFS…

I’ve realised that a wave of disease has hit the maplers of SEA.  Known as MUMP (Maplestory Upsets Mystefied People), the only symptom is this:quitting after 20+ levels, to play other ‘cooler’ games and ‘no drive’ to play maple. To all MUMP sufferers, here’s a list of things you can do to counterattack the disease…

  • Create a guild!  This disallows you from deleting your character, and also, you will be more commited to mapleo for the sake of your guildmates.  For more details, visit www dot hidden-street dot net.
  • Have a friendly competition with your friend/ buddy.  For example,”If I lvl to lvl 2 before you, give me that lvl 1 sword!!”

Well, I can’t think of much, so I’ll leave this list for completion by YOU.  Comment if you have thought of anything! =)

…and some other Singapore related stuffs.

I ended my previous post with a cry for help, screaming,”HOW TO GET SINGAPORE FLAG!?”  But fortunately, I have found the way to do so…

untitled

The quest for the flag starts from talking to the maple admin in the towns.  After that, you will have to find Mr. Gwin and give him some medicine.  Gwin can be found in the ‘blue parts’ of the dungeon, after tunnel of light 2( I tink!)

Anyway, my research of the Singapore town has just ended, in which I was chased by dozens of bloodthirsty ghosts, had several near-death experiences and gawked at the dozens of merlion statues in the towns, among other experiences.  Therefore, I present to you…. THE SINGAPORE TOWN REVIEW!!!

REVIEW

Stuff you must know:  The SG map is made out of 2 towns, CBD(Central Business District) and  Boat Quay Town. The former is more ‘Singapore-like’ with stop sign and speed limit monsters.  However, the latter is more for the higher levled mapler, with GHOSTS in many maps.

Get to Singapore by going to Kerning City, and talking to the gal at the extreme left (Irene).  After buying the 20 000 mesos ticket, you will be in the Kerning Airport ,aka the waiting room…

Maple0001 Maple0002

After a pretty long wait, you will be transported to the airplane.  This is the same as the rides to Ludibrum and Ossyria, just that this is MUCH faster and if you drop something, it will be stuck to the roof of the airplane, never to be seen again…

Maple0004

After the ride, you will arrive at CHANGI AIRPORT(sounds familiar?) and after leaving the airport and stepping into CBD, your adventure in Singapore BEGINS…

Maple0005 Maple0038

Visual and Music:5/5. The statue of Sir Stanford Raffles(In CBD; Raffles is the founder of modern Singapore) is hilarious!  Also, you can find the ‘durians’ the Esplanade(theatre) in the CBD too.  Also, have a look at the merlion in Boat Quay Town…

Maple0007 Maple0012(Esplanade in background)

Maple0023

Monsters: 4/5.  I have something against the GODLY spawn rate in boat Quay town.  in CBD this is still ok, as the monsters are generally low-levled.  However, when it comes to probably level 50+ ghosts and monsters beyond Boat Quay Town, I’m not so keen…

Maple0027

There is also a ghost ship if you manage to reach Mysterious Path 3(It seems like everyone has died at least once in their exploration!)

Maple0032 Maple0033

PS I heard from a *ahem* trustworthy*ahem* source that there is a level 100 boos monster deep in the ship, called captain ________.

OTHER RANDOM PICTURES OF THE SG MONSTERS

Maple0028 Maple0030 Maple0029 Maple0025

Quests: 3/5.  Quests are pretty simple, no chain quests or boss monster quest, excluding the maple flag quest(Its a maple event quest to commemorate the National Days of Singapore and Malaysia, so I’m not including it).Quests include: Technical Assignment, Clear The Rubbish, Wedding Photos 1 etc.

And so, I end my review of SG.  In my opinion, SG is worth visiting (although a little ex!) It will certainly put a smile on your face as you admire the common stuff in this little red dot!

It has been a long time since you saw me, yes?  Sadly I was so caught up with the tragedy known as the’Hustle And Bustle Of Real Life’ that there was NO time to blog.  Now I have swept away the trixters from my computer, and here I am with a  ncie guide for ya…(Note:The guide concentrates a lot of managing your guild AFTER creation, not creating your guild.  Hope this will have use to you!)

THE GUILD GUIDE

HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL AND SECRET AND CONFIDENTIAL AND MOST HIGHLY SECRET TOO…

Why a guild?

  • You get to meet more people.
  • You have people to back you up in case you get KSed
  • You can do the guild quest together (although its a tad bit too difficult) it provides good exp, among other good stuff

 PART 1

THE BURNING QUESTION

HOW DO I ENUSRE THAT MY GUILD DOES NOT BECOME ‘NOOB’ AND INACTIVE!?

First of all, have a criteria on the minimum level required to enter your guild.  In my opinion, it should be at least 35+.  Share this with your Jr masters, or even better still, post it in your guild notice column.  Try to practice what you preach too, for if you invite DOZENS of level 20+ friends and make the lvl requirement 50+, do you think your jr masters and members would look up to you and follow your commands?

However, DO NOT SUDDENLY SKYROCKET THE LEVEL REQUIREMENT, for you will have to expel a vast amount of members, and the rest might be so put of that they might quit.  If you really want to, increase it progressively.  A good way to decide whether to increase is to calculate the average level of your guild (total level of members÷total number of members)  If there is a distinct increase from the previous time, go ahead and increase the lvl requirement (and celebrate with your members!) otherwise, push them and yourselves to ‘chiong’ (level up more quickly)

IN A NUTSHELL

  1. Set a level requirement and stick to it!
  2. Do not skyrocket your requirement.
  3. Average level= total lvl of members ÷total no. of members

Part 2- members & jr masters- 2 letters

To the JR master:

Dear Jr,

You are second in command, a figure eveyone looks up to.  Don’t you think that you should show even more respect to your leader, so your members will follow?

Every guild has this crisis:  The jr invites his rather noob friends, promotes him to jr, and soon the guild is plagued with a LOAD of members who do not meet the lvl requirement.  Respect your leader’s decisions, his lvl requirement!

Most importantly, be kind to both leader and member, helping them whenver neccasary, and make your guild proud of this caring and deserving jr master!

 Your sincerely,

 Flamerune-Guild master and mapler.

Dear member:

You have joined the guild.  Whether it is facing ‘civil war’ or a golden age, I wish to talk to you about one thing: Loyalty.

Be loyal to your guild, and you will reap benefits.  I’m very sure that every leader would appreciate and treasure a loyal member, who would most probably turn into his right hand man.  On the other hand, a member who enters the guild and quits the next day would probably hurt the leader and might cuase the other members to be more tempted to quit as well.  (Really true in pq!)

In other words, treasure loyalty!
